Where: Leeds Railway Station (main concourse)
Contact: Christina Morrison, Northern Rail – 07920 155 918
What: Scrumdiddlyumptious - A Golden Ticket for Rail Passengers!
Rail passengers might be forgiven for thinking they’ve walked straight on to a film set when they come face-to-face with Willy Wonka and his Oompa Loompas at Leeds station on Saturday.
The characters, from the cult classic film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be handing out ‘golden tickets’ to rail passengers as part of Northern Rail’s sponsorship of the 16th Bradford International Film Festival.
The golden tickets offer passengers the chance to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Witches, Roald Dahl’s deliciously scary story about witches and their terrible scheme, for £1 as well as take part in a feast of activities, if they travel by train to the Roald Dahl themed Family Film Fundays taking place at the National Media Museum on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 March.
One lucky ticket holder will also win a Roald Dahl DVD box set and a family ticket to see The Railway Children at the Festival’s closing gala.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is being screened, along with the original film, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and other Roald Dahl classics The Witches and Matilda as part of the Bradford International Film Festival’s Family Film Fundays.
